Hello
I have spent the past 14 years working as a pastry chef at The White House (seasonal), Stone Tower Winery, Clyde's Willow Creek Farm and Salamander. I am more than a Baker, I am a Pastry Artist.
My Story
My name is Dillyn Ketterman,
On a hot summers day in mid August, I was born.....

Then a lot of other thing happened
My dad said I was really good at flipping pancakes, my aunt came over to make Christmas chocolates, we made strawberry jam from the berries in our garden, I wanted to be an artist, a singer, an artist, an SVU detective, a Broadway Star, an artist, a sign language interpreter, an artist.... One thing led to another and through watching a lot of Food Network Challenge, I realized that I could be an Artist with food!

I graduated from culinary school with a degree in Culinary arts with a focus in baking and pastry. After serving as a volunteer Young Life leader for years in Leesburg Virginia, I started my career serving as a bakery intern at a Young Life Camp in Southern Virginia. When returning from my summer long stint scooping 600 cookies a day and making an insane amount of bread, I decided to hit the ground running, going after my biggest career goal to be on Food Network Challenge. Just a few month later the show was canceled and my dreams were crushed. I pressed on, I got a great opportunity working for a Master cake decorator Salamander Resort where I learned so much and was given a lot of chances to practice making really unique cakes. Eventually I found myself with a new opportunist to become the pastry chef at Clyde's Willow Creek Farm in Ashburn Virginia where I grew so much in my six years there but along with so many other people, 2020 brought on a new chapter. After a year of waiting God very clearly told me that my next Job would be at Stone Tower Winery. I was so lucky to have so much support from the owners and a lot of freedom to create and really spread my wings as an artist, but after three years I felt God telling me that it was time to go out on my own and start the business that everyone has been telling me to start.

Being a chef has awarded me some really amazing opportunities, I have volunteered and worked at the White House for multiple Christmas seasons, made a birthday cake for a lunch Michelle Obama had for her friend. I've met multiple celebrity chefs and have gotten to work under and study with some of the best pastry chefs in the nation.

I love what I do, I cannot imagine doing anything else. When I am not baking and decorating, I am spending time with my dogs, Maybee and Hurley, and my horses Rhett and Maui. I am a competitive Side Saddle Equestrian and also spend a few days a week repairing jewelry at my parents jewelry store My husband and I raise a ridiculous number for chickens despite neither of us eating eggs, but it gives me eggs for my cakes!
